Hi Jos!

I don't have an answer, Just a few glaring observations: on forum.kde.org
there is no 'Artwork' section. Also, unlike kde-apps.org, there does not
appear to be an OpenDesktop.org website domain for kde-art.og. And while
OpenDesktop.org *does* have an artwork section, it does not have a
KDEsub-category. As most artists are not likely to be heavily
Wiki-savvy,
limiting a potential contributor's submission options to http://community.
kde.org/Promo/Material/Artwork seems a little unneccesary to me (although
if updated could still be the 'official' location for 'official' artwork...)

I would think at least having an Art sub-category on the forums would be a
good start. Maybe keep a pinned and moderated sub-category for the
'officially-recognized' logo's and artwork, while having the general forum
category would allow for community contributions on an on-going basis.

Just a thought on how we might be a little more contributor-friendly and
encourage participation. If implemented, I would happily blog about it.

- James
