Correction to my own post: Too hasty. Kiconedit does compile, but has
problems (minor) with saving. It saves files as pixmaps (that's good
enough) but with the wrong names. KPaint doesn't seem to save files at
all. As I am now much more familiar with kde and qt image and pixmap
code after working on krayon it should be easy to fix these minor bugs
and also look into the clipboard and drag and drop problems with
kiconedit in particular. In fact, I just implemented saving images in
krayon last week, so it is fresh on my mind. This will be a welcome
release from the complexities of krayon.

As krayon (kimageshop) is such an ambitious app and these two existing
image editing apps do work and only need minor work, I hereby make a
committment to have them both VERY usable in kdenonbeta cvs by the end
of the week. I will also consider keeping snapshots on my web site or
making announcements at Freshmeat for those who want these apps. Kde
needs these apps, desperately.
