I think this is the right way to do. It is the same with Linux system shutdown.
It is a hassle to see the timeouts after SIGTERM and SIGKILL because one never
knows how long somethings _can_ take. How should the windowmanager know that
kbiff is not a program which has to store a 300M database in it's current state
to disk? ;-)
