Thanks for the pointer.  Indeed, this seems to work regardless of platform.

I guess they just want consistency.  Since everything else in Qt is 
camel-case, it would look weird if Phonon would be an exception. 
Unfortunately, the Qt docs don't mention this incompatibility with KDE's 
Phonon.
