Sorry for the late reply.

I managed to sort it out, sort of. I build qt with phonon support and then 
build kde phonon from gitorious and add
"-DPHONON_INCLUDE_DIR=/opt/kde-1092481/include -
DPHONON_LIBRARY=/opt/kde-1092481/lib/libphonon.so" to the kdelibs build.

I couldn't just drop qt's phonon because I'm pretty sure that 
qtscriptgenerator needs it. The crashes still occur with qt demos, for 
instance qmediaplayer:
