I am with Aaron here. Especially for my case, I found myself adding a lot o= f=20 code in kdelibs for what I did in KDE - and it turned out my major=20 contributions, aka KAuth and KIdleTime, had a rather relevant usage through= out=20 the whole KDE. Of course, I would be very happy if those would be merged in= to=20 Qt, but I don't see that coming, since while it would make sense for=20 KIdleTime, KAuth is so specific to a desktop environment situation that I=20 don't see how Qt could integrate that. This - at least to me - means that we cannot and will never be able to do a= =20 full merge of kdelibs into Qt, since we will always need something more -=20 after all, Qt and KDE have rather different goals. And it also means that=20 people in KDE like kdelibs, and definitely want that "something more" we gi= ve.=20 I'd even go ahead and say that it is probably kdelibs the thing which sets = the=20 bar between KDE and $something. My vision is very similar to Alexander's (Neundorf), and I'm not going to=20 repeat what he already said, but I want to stress the point that if we ever= =20 plan to merge "something" in Qt, we'd better start with discussing the=20 decision with Nokia. =2D-=20 =2D------------------ Dario Freddi KDE Developer GPG Key Signature: 511A9A3B --nextPart1879237.H6iydkEFYm Content-Type: application/pgp-signature; name=signature.asc Content-Description: This is a digitally signed message part. -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.4.11 (GNU/Linux) iEYEABECAAYFAkzOqZ4ACgkQaqeZcVEamjuDvQCeKvGt2onYvCOLCHbWgNHCEZW/ UhIAnjuFGf8bbrsrQYkwh8uRw4nRtnJJ =W4uW -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- --nextPart1879237.H6iydkEFYm--
