I also prefer it because I find i++ a funny thing: it has strange semantics 
and I always have to pause to really understand what it does.

So, my brain is trained to stop at a i++ "what is this doing?" but just 
immediatelly read ++i as "increment i" even in the situation where they are 
alone.

This is just taste, of course.
