Thanks for the prompt answer. I've read your response, and suddently the
problem appeared again. Alt+Shift+F12 disabled compositing but the window
receiving the input did not appear in front under the mouse, so yeah I must
have a broken X client :-(. Now to think of it, I replaced kwin with metacity
for testing (metacity --replace) and the problem happened also there, so it was
most probably not a bug in Kwin - sorry, I just remembered this now. Anyway, I
think we can close this bug. I guess I'll have to report it to X people.
