Thanks for pointing out the XML format. But it didn't work in my simple
testcase:

Problem 1:
The file content.xml stores all text of the entire document on the same line!

Problem 2:
The file meta.xml stores a timestamp. A merge conflict is guarranteed unless
the 2 editors save within the same second. I know git can be configured to
overcome this, so it is not the biggest problem.

Trying to reopen this.
