Well, it is not so hard to find in registry the key what needs to be updated
to switch from jabber,cin to your own server...

Emoticons are nice to haves, but as you say, hardly necessary for the
corporate world.

I'd be interested.  I'm evaluating Jabber Messenger now.  Here's what I
have to say about it:

Jabber Messenger:
  Pros:
    Very clean interface.
  Cons:
    Install and initial logon did a *lot* of things so quickly that it
makes me nervous not knowing what it did. Limitation of the trial to
only jabber.com server counts it out, and again, our needs don't
justify a commercial solution.
