You should debug nxagent and see what's happening when evolution is
crashing. The source is here:

Note also that nxagent is a X server and evolution is a X client. X
clients and X servers talk each other by a network protocol and should
not crash even when the protocol bits they are receiving from the remote
don't match their expectations.

Additional suggestion: be sure that FreeNX is not preloading the NX X
libraries and that you have the latest version of the NX OSS components
installed. Only nxagent should link to the modified NX X libs, not the
application.
