            Bug ID: 332341
           Summary: Amarok does not play ALAC using GStreamer
    Classification: Unclassified
           Product: amarok
           Version: 2.8.0
          Platform: Kubuntu Packages
                OS: Linux
            Status: UNCONFIRMED
          Severity: major
          Priority: NOR
         Component: Playback
          Assignee: amarok-bugs-dist@kde.org
          Reporter: kirill.bogdanenko@gmail.com
                CC: matej@laitl.cz

When trying to play ALAC (Apple Lossless Audio Codec) encoded file Amarok
claims that there's no plugin for that format and asks to find and download
"Decoder for Apple Lossless Audio Code (ALAC)". However it cannot find a
suitable one.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Switch to GStreamer phonon backend (if you're not using it)
2. Open ALAC-encoded (usually *.m4a) file in amarok
Actual Results:
Amarok claims that there's no decoder for that codec.

Expected Results:
Amarok should play these files without any problems.

I'm using:
* Kubuntu Trusty (14.04)
* GStreamer phonon backend (4.7.1)
* GStreamer (0.1 and 1.0) (-plugins-bad and -plugins-ugly installed)

The issue is not relevant to VLC phonon backend.
