I can't reproduce this crash. Can you also attach the debug log with only Jabber \
loaded? You need to connect once, wait for a few minutes until it settles down \
retrieving vCards, then restart Kopete and take all necessary steps to reproduce the \
crash.

If you don't want to make your contacts public, please create a test account or mail \
the debug log to me.

I've forwarded to the Iris maintainer since it most likely is not a Kopete problem.
