In your konqueror setup dialog, try the following:
Under "Previews & Metadata" look at the box presenting "Select Protocols". Scroll \
down, and find the "local protocols" option. Turn it and everything you want \
underneath it to "on" and tadaaa, you should have your previews back.

Nevertheless is it remains a bug, even in KDE 3.3.1
