I came up with some more information.  By copying the problem page to a
test directory:  

		  http://carrot.whitman.edu/OrionTest

The page uses a css called design.css.  In it are some lines like:

    FONT-FAMILY: Arial;

If I comment out all of the "FONT-FAMILY:" directives the page prints.
If I leave them in there, the page won't print.  Does it have to do with
how konqueror embeds true type fonts into its postscript output?
