Did you compile the sources with debugging messages enabled? Actual debug info 
(--enable-debug) is not neccessary.
If so, could you please start konqueror from a shell and send me the debug 
output from a kamera:/ browse session?
The IOSlaves output might also be interesting; it should either appear in 
~/.xsession-errors, or start "kdeinit" from a shell so it will appear there.
I cannot test this myself as I don't have a digicam :(
