You put it in some place where you can run an application from. Basically, it 
can be anywhere, but normal places would be $KDEDIR/share/applnk/apps/Utilities
 (for system-wide access) or ~/.kde/share/applnk/apps/Utilities (for access 
only from your account.

One more comment: there seems to be a bug in Beta3 (at least), in that for you 
to be able to swallow an application, the .kdelnk file has to be writable by 
the user who is going to dock it. So if you install it system-wide, you have 
to make sure its permission is 666 or some similar combination. See "man 
chmod" for more information about how to change permissions.
