OK.

Would you recommend that I just get core, updates, and extras first and then
get third party or all third party stuff along side fc's stuff?

Eli

Has the policy of phasing out apt-rpm changed? I moved away from it on
the understanding the repositories are dropping support for it.

Anyway, I thought I'd suggest an alternative: copy the CDs (or set up a
network-based install via FTP or NFS) to the server, and have it boot
off these images (I can dig up a description on how to do this if you'd
like). You'll still need some kind of remote console access (I've got
it on my Xen-based server, for example), and select text mode on boot.

I bet, with a little testing, you could set up a kickstart to do an
upgrade with absolutely zero user input. From experience, basically
any user input can be coded into the kickstart file, though I don't
recall if I ever had it down to zero input.

Otherwise, I'd be interested in knowing how your yum-based upgrade goes.
I've only done dist upgrades with Debian, and have always heard
RH/Fedora people discourage the yum method.

Good luck.

Logan
