Tried all that :)
FYI I always logout and drop to init 3 when updating, seems odd only me is
seeing this, I hope the dbug info may shed some light on it.

Cheers

OK.. the Box is/was fully updated, so to be sure I updated again (fresh
download) of Base/Libs and same problem, rolling back base and libs fixed it.

Not sure if the list excepts attachments so I CC'd you as well,

To get rid of the knotify/arts::dispatcher error I had to remove all
the temporary files of a user created by kde:
~/.mcop
/tmp/kde-$USER
/tmp/ksocket-$USER
/var/tmp/kdecache-$USER

Now the error is gone and happens no more under the following
configuration:
$ rpm -q kdebase kdelibs gcc
kdebase-3.5.0-1.1.fc4.kde
kdelibs-3.5.0-1.1.fc4.kde
gcc-4.0.2-8.fc4

Hi!
I have had the problem with the knotify/arts::dispatcher error. And konqueror
was crashing for me. It was some problem with kmail too. The soulution for me
was to simply rebuild arts against newer kdelibs, kdebase and kdepim. I don't
know if it is related but i think so. All is working now. Is on FC4.

Regards
P. Ekholm

Could you explain this further? What exactly did you do to "rebuild arts..."

I get the same error actually. Running FC4.

Today I decided to take the plunge and update to kde 3.5, so I enabled
kde-redhat-unstable and kde-redhat-unstable-all (in addition to all the other
kde-redhat repos). I had kdevelop installed. In this case I got the following
errors:

...
---> Package kdegraphics-devel.i386 7:3.5.0-1.0.fc4.kde set to be updated
--> Running transaction check
--> Processing Dependency: kdelibs-apidocs for package: kdevelop
--> Restarting Dependency Resolution with new changes.
--> Populating transaction set with selected packages. Please wait.
---> Package kdelibs-apidocs.i386 6:3.4.3-1.0.kde set to be updated
--> Running transaction check
--> Processing Dependency: kdelibs-devel = 6:3.4.3 for package:
kdelibs-apidocs
--> Processing Dependency: kdelibs-devel-noapidocs = 6:3.4.3 for package:
kdelibs-apidocs
--> Finished Dependency Resolution
Error: Missing Dependency: kdelibs-devel = 6:3.4.3 is needed by package
kdelibs-apidocs
Error: Missing Dependency: kdelibs-devel-noapidocs = 6:3.4.3 is needed by
package kdelibs-apidocs

I tried removing kdevelop before performing the update. When I do this, there
are no dependency errors. However, since I regularly use kdevelop I did not
upgrade.

I then tried installing kdevelop with the unstable repos activated (so it
should pull in kdevelop.i386 9:3.3.0-1.0.fc4.kde). This resulted in a similar
error:

...
--> Running transaction check
--> Processing Dependency: kdelibs-devel = 6:3.4.3 for package:
kdelibs-apidocs
--> Processing Dependency: kdelibs-devel-noapidocs = 6:3.4.3 for package:
kdelibs-apidocs
--> Finished Dependency Resolution
Error: Missing Dependency: kdelibs-devel = 6:3.4.3 is needed by package
kdelibs-apidocs
Error: Missing Dependency: kdelibs-devel-noapidocs = 6:3.4.3 is needed by
package kdelibs-apidocs

I'm no expert at this, but it looks like maybe kdelibs-apidocs (which kdevelop
3.3 needs) incorrectly depends on kdelibs-devel version 3.4.3 instead of the
kdelibs-devel for kde 3.5?

I think we may have found a bug in yum.

$ yum install kdevelop
fails (as you described). It seems to be trying to install the older
kdelibs-apidocs-3.4.3 from stable instead of the newer/available
kdelibs-apidocs-3.5.0 from unstable.

$ yum install kdevelop kdelibs-apidocs
works, forcing the choice of the newest kdelibs-apidocs
