Hi Rex

Sorry to begin a small harp on this, but... the current situation with this
dependancy is creating problems. And to meet the dependancy requirements
requires me to break other things. All of them are not unusual packages
installed directly from Fedora.

Is there anyway that you can build the kde 3.5 packages ontop of the stable
Fedora packages, or is this going to create other problems? What will happen
when the packages move to testing and the fc update / testing packages stay
where they are?

Eli

I've been trying to compile another program, piave, a video editor, and have
been getting messages that arts couldn't be found. Arts is installed and is
the correct version. I haven't figured out what that's all about.

But, tonight, I'm getting arts crashes and now I'm wondering if this related
to the compiling problem I describe above - this is all very preliminary, and
mostly to see if anyone else is experiencing arts issues. I'm running 3.5,
all the latest from Rex's repos.

How about having arts-devel installed?

Rex,

Rather than enable updates testing, I disabled KDE Redhat testing and am
still having problems.. the upgrade of libtunepimp seems to be breaking
kdemultimedia. So either the libtunepimp2 compatibility package needs to
be moved to stable or kdemultimedia needs to be rebuilt against the new
package.

I know "stable" is currently broken. Sorry. I'm just uncomfortable
throwing something into stable without any testing whatsoever. Now that
it's been a few days, I have less reservations... and am planning on
moving libtunepimp2 to stable real soon now.

OK, I'm *pretty* sure libtunepimp2-0.3.0-4 (rebuilt against core/stable,
*not* updates-testing using mock) in stable now should be good to go.

Thanks for the info. I've worked around the issue for the time being by
uninstalling apr-devel installing the gcc dependancies and then rebuilding
and installing apr-0.9.7-3.src.rpm and apr-util-0.9.7-3.src.rpm from the
development SRPM repository. I'll keep an eye out for the newer rpms

Hi..

Earlier tonight I updated this Box which included kdelibs and kdebase to:
kdebase-3.5.0-1.1.fc4.kde
kdelibs-3.5.0-1.1.fc4.kde

Then after restarting kde, I had two info boxes telling me kdedesktop had
crashed and knotify? crashed, the Desktop Had no icons,Wallpaper only the
Kicker and Kmenu. I could not run any Apps, well they ran but in a small
window at the top of my screen so totally unusable :)

However rolling back just:
kdebase-3.5.0-1.0.fc4.kde
kdelibs-3.5.0-0.2.fc4.kde
Fixed the problem...

A poor report but I had to get this Box back up quick :) but I wonder if
anyone else has seen this?

FC4

Cheers,

Colin
