Procomm? huh? I haven't heard that name in years and years.DOS terminal
programs Telix, Procomm XTree QDOS ... sheesh. I guess this sorta tells you
how long I've been doing this kinda work. But I still miss my Wordperfect 5.1
for DOS. Best peice of software I've ever worked with. Bar none. I guess
that sorta dates me doesn't it?

Anyway... I know that xterm provides vt220 emulation. And I also know that it
should be possilbe to dial up, connect and communicate over an xterm session.
How to go about doing that, that's something I do not know. Maybe somebody
has a pointer where to find documentation that can be relatively easy to
follow. But I would very much understand not wanting to do this. DOS
emulation and Procomm would be much easier.

Wow Procomm huh? Who said that DOS was dead? :)

Eli

It's elegant, simple, and just works really well. I heard about the xterm
thing, and researched it quite a bit, but never got it working right. By the
way, dosemu will run WP5.1...

Ever tried DOSBox?
http://dosbox.sourceforge.net/news.php?show_news=1

I could never get dosemu to work right, but DOSBox was frightfully easy to set
up.

"In theory, any DOS application should run in DOSBox, but the emphasis has
been on getting DOS games to run smoothly, which means that communication,
networking and printer support are still in early developement."
The above from the DOSBox Wiki dampened my desire to try it since I was doing
to this to be able to run Procomm. I did come across it when I was having
initial problems with dosemu. Once I really sat down and just followed
dosemu's own instructions step-by-step in their readme/install files from the
download, I found dosemu to be quite easy to set up. I have it running on a
bunch of pc's I manage now.

[jeff@kubik ~]$ rpm -q kdelibs
kdelibs-3.4.1-1.2.fc4.kde

Is there something else to be done here?

Sorry, had 3.0.14a-2.0.3.kde as my Release for samba, so I just assumed
that's what it was. I'll drop it and install the one from base.
