How can I prevent following problem:

I use Firefox for webbrowsing and Thunderbird for email.
Wehn I click a web-link in email, forst a konqueror window
is opened. THis remains empty. Immediately also an instance
of Firefox is started (or a tab in Firefox is added), which opens
moments later with the requested link.

Is there a way to disable the konqueror intervention?

Upon installing Firefox and THunderbird, I left teh connection-handling
to Debian, since 'Gnome' or 'do it yourself' were the only other options

Regards,
marout
