ok, I have an icon on my desktop to automatically open a telnet link (for informational 
purposes it is "telnet -x isua.iastate.edu") when I click on it a konsole window 
momentarily opens and then closes, this also happens whenever I try running the telnet 
icon in the kmenu. both icons did work with KDE version 2.01
