Subject: Bug#31904: Cannot type into KWord after switching keyboard type
From: bullfighter () buffalo ! com
Date: 2001-08-31 17:51:57
[Download RAW message or body]
Package: kword
Version: 1.1 (using KDE 2.2.0 )
Severity: normal
Installed from: compiled sources
Compiler: gcc version 2.95.3 20010315 (release) [FreeBSD]
OS: FreeBSD (i386) release 4.4-PRERELEASE
OS/Compiler notes:
Hi,
After running KWord, I typed in some random text into a lovely blank document.
I then changed keyboard to "ru" from "us" ; and nothing appeared. I realize this has \
been fixed in 1.1-beta2 :)
However, when I switch back to US type keyboard, I figure I *should* be allowed to \
continue to type. It seemed no matter what I did, that I could not regain the power \
to input.
I think saving, closing, and re-opening fix this problem, but it could be a hassle \
for the lesser of users, who may think that the program *shudder* "froze".
Anyhow, I won't take up much more of your time. Just like to say -- great \
work,congrats,etc.. on creating a wonderful interactive desktop.
P.S. My KDE 2.2 build from source via /usr/ports in FreeBSD took *only* 8 1/2 hours \
on a K6/233 w/ 128MB Ram. Well worth it :)
Yours,
--Matador
