Subject: libtool problem kde2.1-beta1 solaris2.6
From: rokrau@yahoo.com

Package: kab
Version: 2.1-beta1
Severity: grave
Installed from: source

Hi,
I am trying to build kdeutils-2.1-beta1 from source using gcc-2.95.2 on Solaris-2.6. \
I have no access to /usr/local so I am building and installing everything locally \
with a prefix of /devl/rkrause. I have

USR_LOCAL=/devl/rkrause
KDEDIR=/devl/rkrause/kde2
QTDIR=/devl/rkrause/qt-2.2.3

and run configure with
./configure --prefix=$KDEDIR --with-extra-includes=$USR_LOCAL/include:$KDEDIR/include \
--with-extra-libs=$USR_LOCAL/lib:$KDEDIR/lib

when I run make I get the message:

/bin/sh ../libtool --mode=link --tag=CXX g++  -O2 -fno-exceptions -fno-check-new \
-Wall -pedantic -W -Wpointer-arith -Wmissing-prototypes -Wwrite-strings \
-Wno-long-long -fno-builtin -DQT_CLEAN_NAMESPACE -DQT_NO_COMPAT -DQT_NO_ASCII_CAST  \
-L/usr/openwin/lib -L/devl/rkrause/qt-2.2.3/lib -L/devl/rkrause/kde2/lib  \
-L/devl/rkrause/lib -L/devl/rkrause/kde2/lib -R /devl/rkrause/kde2/lib -R \
/devl/rkrause/qt-2.2.3/lib -R /usr/openwin/lib -R /devl/rkrause/lib -R \

                -lkab -lkfile
libtool: link: cannot find the library `/usr/local/kde/lib/libjpeg.la'

gmake[1]: *** [all-recursive] Error 1
gmake[1]: Leaving directory `/devl/rkrause/kdeutils-2.1-beta1'
gmake: *** [all-recursive-am] Error 2

When I go into that directory and copy and paste the link directive into the shell by \
hand it works until the next subdir where the same problems appears.

I have the same problem with kdebase but there I cant fix the problem by hand.

Regards
Roland
