The language setting on kdm is overriden by the language setting
of root. This was not the case some time ago. Thus if I (as root) select
"catalan" as the language for the greeting screen of kdm but I (as root) has
selected spanish in the general preferences of my acount as root, the
greeting is in spanish. In particular since the default language is english
for the root acount, it is impossible to change the language for kdm without
changing the general language for root.


(basically if the user logs into kde as "root" his/her language pref's 
get stored in /root/.kde/share/config/kdeglobals and kdm picks those up
and uses them over that which is set in /etc/kde2/kdmrc.  )
