OK--you know about my probs in compiling 2.1-beta2.  I retire bloody but unbowed -- \
and will read up on cvs to keep current..

BUT -- http://www.kde.org/announcements/annmounce-2.1-beta1.html says one can get \
2.1-beta1 from http://ftp.kde.org/unstable/distribution/2.1beta/tar/generic/src which \
links to http://ftp.sourceforge.net/pub/mirrors/kde/2.1beta1/tar/generic/src (if I \
copied that correctly)  which no longer exists.
