grave bug? You are kidding my friend.
try to understand your http.conf syntax and then
use 'od' or any hex editor to find out what the
problem in the saved http.conf is exactly, and 
THEN if you still think it's kedit's fault you _may_
report a bug which is a _minor_ if there is indeed one.

when i make changes to httpd.conf with kedit, a server restart with comanche
fails because of a "syntax error" in the httpd.conf (even if i just entered a space at
the end of one line...)
