This is a bug that is still present in the FINAL release. I have found a partial solution to it, so it may help you to understand the 'link' better. If you use Netscape and Gimp and a few other 'non-KDE' apps you have the tool tips and cursor blinking away, it really does get very anoying. I discovered that the reason is, is that I prefer for my panel to 'auto hide' I had it set at a 1 second rate, so I tried setting it at a 4 second rate, and the blinking slowed down, then I turned it off and NO BLINKING. It's quite obvious that these two are linked, and this is one irratating bug that needs to be squashed. Thank you for hearing me. Richard A. McCormick (submitted via bugs.kde.org)
