From kde-bugs-dist Tue Oct 31 23:06:20 2000 From: Oliver.Meyer () stud ! uni-regensburg ! de Date: Tue, 31 Oct 2000 23:06:20 +0000 To: kde-bugs-dist Subject: Bug#14275: kmidi crashes X-MARC-Message: https://marc.info/?l=kde-bugs-dist&m=97303440329862 Package: kmidi Version: >= 1.93 Severity: crash Installed from: RPM \\\ Hello, On my system (distribution: SuSE 7.0, i386, Kernel 2.2.16), \\\"kmidi\\\" from the KDE 2 multimedia package will invariably crash upon invocation. The problem occurs under the following circumstances: - kmidi is started with the graphical interface. When started with \\\"-id\\\", it kmidi works fine but in text only. - with KDE 2 versions prior to 1.93, the problem did not occur. With any later version, kmidi does not run any more. (Using the kmidi version from the v1.92 package does not work as the libraries v2.0 are not backward compatible.) On invocation, kmidi produces the following output to stderr: --- APPLICATION OUTPUT BEGINS --- KCrash: crashing.... crashRecursionCounter = 2 KCrash: Application Name = kmidi path = Unable to start dr. konqi Internal error: no pipe open. ERROR: KUniqueApplication: DCOP communication error! --- APPLICATION OUTPUT ENDS --- Then the application exits. I am not sure whether this is really a bug or if I\\\'m just doing something wrong, since nobody else seems to have this problem. sayonara Oliver Meyer (submitted via bugs.kde.org)
