I consulted our Lead UI about that : 

"I've included a quick mock up that solves the problems. Having the
preview image on the right is problematic because it needs to be far
away from the text to allow for localization in other languages which
makes the association of the checkboxx to the preview fairly weak.

Placing the preview (in a 'window' so it doesn't just float there) in
the upper left with the check box directly below ensures that there is
nice close association between the two and prevents us from having any
localization problems since there is plenty of room to the right of the
check box for a long string of text.
