If you prefer word wrapping to be set at 60 character per line and someone sends you mail with 80 characters per line then normally KMail will honor the word wrap set by the sender and set the word wrap to 80 characters. This is a problem for (non standards conformat) mail sent from some mailers that send entire paragraphs on one line, as they can contain hundreds of characters per line. KMail attempts to render these mails correctly in the reader window but resists sending similarly ill formatted mails. What you can do is turn on settings->composer->use smart quoting. This will 'intelligently' reformat the entire message you reply to with your preferred word wrap setting (instead of using the senders word wrap length), it handles quoting correctly. I use this setting myself and are extremely pleased with it, it should be made the default I think. I think KMails behaviour is correct so I will close this bug. BFN, Don.
