I have a Sony internal DAT tape drive installed on the Adaptec SCSI
controller. There are no address or SCSI conflicts. The drive is
recognized by SuSE Linux 6.2 as dev/st0.

I can back up perfectly using tar from the command line.

When trying to use kdat and mount the tape and / or format it, kdat
constantly tells me that there is no tape in the drive, which is not
true.

Season's greetings,

A. L. Meyers
