I use KBiff with option "Notify". If I get a mail when my screensaver is
enabled, there seems to be a race between the notify window and the
screensaver, which of them should be on top.

Apparently the notify window is displayed on top of the screensaver, and
then the screensaver immediately tries to display itself on top, which
then triggers the notify window to do the same etc. etc.

It doesn't happen every time though.

I have not had the opportunity to look in the sourcecode of Kbiff.

I run KDE 1.1 on a Sun Ultra Sparc with the Solaris 2.5.1 OS.

I use the KDE screensaver with setting "blank screen".

The machine is also configured to use xautolock, but I'm not sure if
this interferes with the Kbiff notify window (when the screensaver
starts, it is always KDE screensaver, not the one started by xautolock).
