From kde-bugs-dist Tue Aug 31 15:18:59 1999 From: Matthew Bibee Date: Tue, 31 Aug 1999 15:18:59 +0000 To: kde-bugs-dist Subject: Bug#1861: kmail can't send messages X-MARC-Message: https://marc.info/?l=kde-bugs-dist&m=93611226008950 Package: kmail Version: 1.0.21 When trying to send messages I get a pop up box titled "kmail warning" Sending failed: `e/y? Acutally the part after "Sending failed" is usually a collection a random glyphs that change each time I try to send a message. Also a small message box titled KMail appears with text "Sending message: Re: re-trying after "not found". This problem started after I accidentally replied to someone with the subject line "hello" in the cc field. The subject line of the message I was responding too was called "re-trying after "not found"". As there are no users called hello on my computer the message naturally bounced back at me. Since then I have not been able to email anyone using kmail but I can still receive messages using kmail (however pine and plain old mail at the command line still works.) It seems as though this "re-trying .. not found" message is somehow "preventing" new messages from being sent. If I select "Send Queued" under the File menu I get the same Sending Failed messages but with no glyphs. Also the "KMail" pop-up comes up with a message that it's trying to send the "re-trying ... not found" message. I'm on a pentium II 400 using Caldera 2.2 dist. Hope this is descriptive enough. Let me know if there are other tests I can run. Thanks Matthew Matthew Bibee ISU VLSI & Mixed Signal group mbibee@rfmachine.ee.iastate.edu
