After some time it gave up. At the destination site, a zero byte lenght file is created. I tryied at Linux and NT ftp sites. My provider and ftp.xoom.com and ftp.webjump.com Ncftp worked well on these 3 sites. I am using a brazilian Red Hat 6.0 distribuiton, Conectiva http://www.conectiva.com.br , kernel 2.2.5-23cl.
