The new machine has a keyboard with a PS2 connector, and some additional buttons (Sleep/WakeUp/Power). On this machine, when I run kde (from kdm or from xdm), then every time I press the spacebar, the keyboard case toggles. So I get things like: this IS the SORT of THING that HAPPENS When it switches to upper case, the caps light stays off, and pressing caps lock toggles the light but doesn't change the case. The only way to get back to lower case is to press the space bar again. This makes kde completely unusable, unfortunately, and I have had to change over to a different desktop. I am pretty sure this is kde 1.1.1; if not, it will be kde 1.1. regards Graham -- Dr Graham Wheeler E-mail: gram@cequrux.com Cequrux Technologies Phone: +27(21)423-6065/6/7 Firewalls/Virtual Private Networks Fax: +27(21)24-3656 Data/Network Security Specialists WWW: http://www.cequrux.com/
