Version: 1.1.1 (current CVS)

On Debian 2.2 with kernel 2.2.10 (had reports of other 2.2.x kernels)
the following error occurs when trying to run kvt.  This happened
since 06-14 (or right around there I believe)...

devpts is setup corectly (as far as I can tell, all other terms 
seem to work fine)

bash-2.02$ kvt
kvt: could not open slave tty /dev/pts/5
bash-2.02$
