Package: kdebase (?)
Version: kde 1.1.1

Hi,

This weekend I had a strange problem while copying files across partitions using
kfm.

a) Opened a KFM window on a windows 95 partition
b) Opened a KFM on the parent directory of the directory I wished to copy.
c) Picked up the files and dragged them from Linux to Win95
d) Changed my mind - pressed cancel halfway through

Afterwards, the files on the Linux partition had gone. It appears they had been
deleted.

Personally, I think what may have happened was that I selected "move" when given
the choices after doing the drag to the win95. This is fairly easy to do (Wouldn't
it be easier/possible to default to "Copy".) Does the "move" feature delete
the src during the move?

On the subject of file managing (Of which I do a lot of) I find that it is very
hard to drag into directories when the windows are showing small icons. The sensitivity
seems to be low and there is no indication that the directory is the destination.

I did not try to recreate the above bug, as I was busy reinstating files from
the backups! Maybe it would better if "move" copied files then deleted the source
only when the operation had been completed?

I am using kde1.1.1, Kernel 2.5 and Redhat 5.2.

Keep up the good work - I've been using KDE for a year now and couldn't got
back to windows if they paid me!
