Package: kdat
Version: 1.1-2rh5x

KDAT Build: Mon 15 Feb 1999.

Problem:
Selective restore operations are not reliable, When selecting files in a
subdirectory for restore, they will or will not be restored, or some other
files are restored instead. For example:

The backup contains the files
NET/aaaa.dll
NET/bbbb.dll
NET/cccc.exe
NET/dddd.ini

When selecting bbbb.dll and select "Restore". the file is not restored.
When selecting bbbb.dll and cccc.exe --> files aaaa.dll and/or cccc.exe and/or
dddd.ini will (or will not, sometimes) be restored, the result of the resote
action is unpredictable.
When selecting the whole directory, with all files, the restore is going o.k.
Of course checked the action with different tapes and different files/dirs.
Backup itself is OK, restore by hand, with tar and selecting files with option
-T is working o.k.

Used configuration:
Linux RedHat 5.2, kernel 2.0.36, libc-5.3.12-27, libstdc++ 2.8.0-14
System: Pentium 233-MMX, 64Mb ram, AHA1542 SCSI, Maynard 2000DAT tape unit
