Subject: Bug#1101: RealPlayer quits on KDE interrupts

Package: kaudio
Version: KDE 1.1

I am using RealPlayer 5.0 with Netscape 4.51 under Linux 2.2.3 with
KDE 1.1, and kernel sound modules (for ESS1688).
I have no problem getting RealPlayer to work. However, if I attempt to
switch desktops with kpanel, or if the screensaver activates while
RealPlayer is running, RealPlayer exits with "Error 1" and Netscape's
subprogram diagnostics window reports "audio write error: XXX bytes"
where XXX is some number. I have 80MB of memory on my machine, so
I doubt that memory is an issue. However, my processor is only a 120MHz
Pentium. Could this be a source of the difficulty? I used to run the
same RealPlayer on this machine under Linux 2.0.36 with Afterstep
without any problems.

Thanks!

Mark Paterson
