1.) if yout have set the line termination to CR/LF, give CR a try.

2.) You might need a <Return> or "ppp" to get the PPP server going. You should
be looking for the PPP garbage (~}}}]]]]][}}}}) coming from the other side
before you launch pppd.

I'll close this report now since it is more a question of your setup than a
bug. In case it should be caused by bug there is already one entry in the
database (I don't have the number ready now).
