I can confirm the behaviour, it's the same in Dolphin. For files without any
association (unknown extension and unknown mime type) there is no "Add file
association" or "remember association" setting in the "Open" dialog.

However, there is a button in the right-click "Properties" dialog. Also visible
in the third screenshot.
a@kkrz.tk, have you tried this?
And the dialogs are part of KIO frameworks, not Krusader. I guess this can be
closed.
