I get similar results - as with your previous patch (see comments 151-153).

Currently testing with a Nvidia GTX 970M + driver 381.22 with KWin 5.10.2.
Tested with the KWin compositor enabled and using OpenGL 3.1 rendering backend.

WITH the patch and after a suspend to disk the only "damaged surfaces" are
things like VDPAU accelerated video playback and Chrome/Chromium content
(probably GL accelerated). Moving the Chromium Window is enough to clear the
artefacts in the latter case. Pretty similar to Windows IMHO. 

WITHOUT the patch significant portions of the screen are reproduceably degraded
/ damaged. E.g. KWin decorations, etc.

So (personally) I'd say ship it!"!
