            Bug ID: 375823
Summary: KDE neon does no load hyperv_fb and therefore stays at
                    1024x768
           Product: neon
           Version: unspecified
          Platform: Neon Packages
                OS: Linux
            Status: UNCONFIRMED
          Severity: major
          Priority: NOR
         Component: Packages User Edition
          Assignee: neon-bugs@kde.org
          Reporter: Wolfgang.Baron@gmx.net
                CC: jr@jriddell.org, neon-bugs@kde.org, sitter@kde.org
  Target Milestone: ---

Video resolution stays at 1024x768 when running KDE Neon on hyper-v (Windows 10
pro in a Generation 2 VM), even when using the *virtual* packages
(virtualization kernel and tools). This is so, because the kernel uses the
efifb frame buffer instead of the available hyperv_fb driver. KDE neon is using
Ubuntu kernel 16.04 LTS, so I assume the patches described in
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1287398 should long be
integrated? If not, this would be the case as it describes the problem.
1024x768 makes the system absolutely useless to me.
