I couldn't do without the wallpaper switching any longer, and so implemente=
d a
quick solution.  It doesn't address the ability to have different widgets on
each virtual desktop, as was possible before, but at least allows separate
wallpaper.  It does so by tricking the slideshow background into changing i=
ts
image.
