The behaviour works normally on 5.2.3 if I click on the first item and
shift+click on the last item. The last item shows in the preview pane.

Keyboard functionality seems not applicable since the ability to scroll through
feed topics using the keyboard seems to have been removed. I guess the
mouse-only interface is a feature not a bug.

The drag select only works from the bottom-up because you have to click on pure
white space otherwise the title you started on gets selected. So, in my
original example, to do a drag-select I'd have to start by selecting the white
space after E and drag up. To that extent, the bug is still present.
