Ok.   So given this: 
Program received signal SIGSEGV, Segmentation fault.
0x00000000100016d8 in test_bcdadd () at test_isa_2_07_part1.c:710

"v" (vec_inA),"v" (vec_inB));
I did the monitor command against the ... 16d8 addr.
(gdb) monitor v.translate 0x00000000100016d8 0b00100001

The output is larger than I had expected...    attaching it momentarily.
