The "Kicker" Application Menu does, yes. It adjusts in height according to the
added favorites... But maybe I want it to be higher even if the space is not
needed by the favorites? Just because it looks and feels better and more
"comfy" for me?

The Application Menu "Kickoff" does not resize (I have to scroll for the last
two entries in the categories view). And it is good that it does not because
otherwise it would constantly change if you switch to another tab. Therefore
its size needs to be adjustable by the user who is the only one to determine
the size that looks and feels best to him.

@andy gaal: wrong bug report?
