Less dusty until someone else posts a completely wrong patch there too, and
another 10 years come and  pass waiting for the correct one...

BTW, the fact that this never got fixed "the right way" in KDM is quite
symptomatic of what it used to be only a suspect in my mind: it is KDM being
completely wrong, not the patch itself. If implementing alternative
authentication methods the right way requires such a big effort, then it is
entirely possible that a KDM design flaw is to blame.
